Citizens–I Am Living in a Land of Death

Lyrics:

I’m living in a land of death
The trees are burnt and gray
There’s a smoldering smoke over head
And the night looks the same as the day
It seems the miracle that I can stand
When everyone I’ve known
Drifts up in the air with the ash
Every time that the wind starts to blow

But I feel alive with a life that’s not mine
Your law is a stream in this wasteland; my lifeline.
So much more than precious gold
Are Your promises my Lord
By them is Your servant warned,
And keeping them great reward

Your direction is my delight
Your law secures my roots
I will meditate day and night
And in season You’ll harvest the fruit
Though a poison should threaten to kill
I know my Savior reigns
And when the breezes of death leave a chill
I’ve got Jesus’ blood in my veins

So I feel alive with a life that’s not mine
And I’m believing that that was Your intended design
So much more than precious gold
Are Your promises my Lord
By them is Your servant warned,
And keeping them great reward

The kingdoms of man have all decayed
The ruins of progress turn to waste
The gods of greed lie in their graves
Darkness is everywhere
But there’s a path in the dark that has emerged
I can see a great light beyond this curse
A brilliant blaze that is Your word
A beacon of hope that burns

And I focus my captivated gaze
On the radiant light from Jesus’ face
The water of life is all I crave
Only Your word remains

So much more than precious gold
Is the beauty I behold
Give me the glorious reward
Of knowing You my King my Lord

Demon Hunter — Dead Flowers

Lyrics:

I feel Ashamed,
With Abandon in my Heart and on my Face…
I’ve suffered the Blame,
I would show to you this way but I’m too late…

When the Sorrow it breaks them,
I will replace them
For You.

Dead Flowers for the Torn Apart.
Laid at the grave to heal a Broken Heart.
Let it Rain until it Floods
Let the Sun Breathe Life Once More…
Reborn.

I Wish You the Same…
To walk beside and carry on this Flame.
To see you again
With a Radiance of Pure and Holiness.

When the Sorrow it breaks them,
I will replace them
For You.

Dead Flowers for the Torn Apart.
Laid at the grave to heal a Broken Heart.
Let it Rain until it Floods
Let the Sun Breathe Life Once More…
Reborn.

Dead Flowers for the Torn Apart.
Laid at the grave to heal a Broken Heart.
Let it Rain until it Floods
Let the Sun Breathe Life Once More…
Reborn.

Dead Flowers for the Torn Apart…
Dead Flowers for the Torn Apart…
Dead Flowers for the Torn Apart…
Dead Flowers for the Torn Apart.

Let it Rain until it Floods
Let the Sun Breathe Life Once More…
Reborn.

Dead Flowers for the Torn Apart…
Dead Flowers for the Torn Apart…
Dead Flowers for the Torn Apart…
Dead Flowers for the Torn Apart…
Dead Flowers for the Torn Apart…
Dead Flowers for the Torn Apart.

I know this isn’t the type of music that people typically enjoy, However, as a heavy metal and Christian artist begin to merge, I would say that there is more to come from this genre as a whole. Demon Hunter is a Christian heavy metal band that is based in Seattle, Washington. The band started in 2000 by brothers Ryan and Dan Clark. Their excellent use of guitar riffs accompanied by complex drum lines, the band is known for combing nu metal sounds with the qualities that are found in metalcore.  Plus, their lyrics are awesome!

(Chorus)
(I just wanna get there)
God you making me better
You making me better
And You chose to do it however whenever whatever
(I just wanna get there)
(repeat 4x)

(Verse 1)
You don’t know what I’ve been through
you don’t know what I’ve been through
When the pain, cuts deep cuts deep
you would think it was jiu-jitsu
And me wanna meat from the a menu
instead of peps with the meat from the temple
Tellin me “to find joy in the midst”
This don’t seem that simple
Cause I do what I don’t want to do
what I do I do I what I want I do
what I do and I don’t do
cause it’s me not you
and it seems I’m not you
And I’m breeding my fruit
These are things that are not you
Seeing leaves that aren’t true [?]
Man..
Can’t fight the fight cause I’m too mad
The light to bright to drive you badge
My vision,
so distracted by tension
Condemnation placin’ faith in the weight of my sickness
life prescription distance, WAIT
my Physician is livin
“It’s finished” was the grace of my prison
the cake for the villas
I’m raised in His image
Some penicillin for the snake and his venom
I’m raised and I’m tempted
I’m race and I’m trippin’
Behavin like I wasn’t raised from the crypt
I gotta face it, I’m sick
Gotta face with me sit
waiting for me to see Jesus
gazing at His face till I get (get get)

(Chorus)
(I just wanna get there)
God you making me better
You making me better
And You chose to do it however whenever whatever
(I just wanna get there)
(repeat 4x)

(Verse 2)
you don’t know what we go through
you don’t know what we go through
See the rings
see the videos
see the means
see the dreams of the queens with a wish for the good life
really want to be a good wife
Really want to come home, wish it would have been a good night
But instead we had a fight, with a price
see a piece a piece of the wolf bite
I came home from that honeymoon
feelin high, feelin right, feelin like
our whole life was in front of us
till something nudge me ‘take a test’
Took the the test
it said, “yes”
I’m sayin, “naw this can’t be right.
Can’t recite. I’m tryin to live.
This can’t be life.
How am I a mother after 8 days of being a wife?”
I’m being invited to bring in a life
and I can’t focus on nothing else but me.
Till I realized, what’s living in me is gift
givin to me
from His wisdom
Livin
Swimming with fins, fishing with fin,
The shark, my hearts anxiety is bait tellin us…
“Wait, baby’s first name is ‘mistake’”
It’s a problem with the saints believe it
We slow dancin with sovereignty
till we gotta be
takin from this life like its robbery
we just pottery
the Joy is, that the clay is shape by Grace
and the Potter promised me that, “everything will work for good”
this ain’t lottery

(Chorus)
(I just wanna get there)
God you making me better
You making me better
And You chose to do it however whenever whatever
(I just wanna get there)
(repeat 4x)

My Epic — Alone

As a band based out of Charlotte, North Carolina, this band of Christians captivates listeners with their powerful and moving lyrics as well as smart and intricate arrangements. This band uses truth, beauty, and goodness as inspiration for their lyrics. Many of their song are not only thought provoking but they are also drenched with tenderness, raw honesty, and apathy. This band is truly remarkable.

Lyrics:
Am I a barren temple
Left for newer ways
Of speaking mysteries my veils cannot contain
Should i prepare
To winter spend again
Of silent centuries’ speech for only certain men
What if I wait to find You’ve gone?
What if Your presence was withdrawn?
And I was mistaken all along
To think I could become Your home

It’d be no surprise to finally know
I am truly alone
Come then but likely sooner I’ll be alone
You moved your temple
Inside our bones and limbs
So hard to trust that You won’t move again

For all eternity
You stood with Your Father in perfect unity
And when You walked the earth
You only went where He led
You only spoke what He said
So for everything You left
And all of the glory You forfeit
No matter how low You were sent

You still couldn’t know what it’s like to be alone
Disgraced but you were never alone
Betrayed but you were never alone
Tortured but still never alone
And nothing is worse than being alone

I have been thinking hard about us trading place
Maybe I can wear Your beauty if You put on my shame
Jesus I’ve been trying so hard to look like You
That I almost missed the worst of what I put You through
You didn’t die for sins
You died covered in them
A prideful lying thief gasping out my final breath
For that one moment
You looked just like me
Your Father left You

And You died completely alone.
For me You were alone
You couldn’t marry so He left You all alone
No better promise than sympathy
You conquered death all alone
Cause You know the deepest of all our needs
Never again, never alone

Introduction

Hello All,

Welcome to my blog. This blog is not meant for anything other than to expose various Christian Artist from various genres. My hopes for this blog is to have people understand the importance of not only worship, but also the importance of allowing God to be able to be expressed through different types of genres (even genres were not so keen on listening to). I wanted to use this opportunity to spread Jesus through music.

Why music, you might ask. Music is throughout the bible. From Moses’ song (Exodus 15: 1-19) to the any number in the Psalms. Songs are sprinkled throughout the bible. Heck, even Jesus sang hymns (Matthew 26:30) . So, there has to be an importance for it. It causes us to worship.

Worship is important to God. Worship helps us in battles, when were lacking in strength, and when were pretty much faced with extreme hardships. First, worship brings an upward look to God and His glory. Second, worship brings in inward look at us. Third, worship brings it back to an outward look of how much we need God and causes us to be obedient.

Here in Isaiah 6:1-8, this process can be seen.

In the year that King Uzziah died, [in a vision] I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and the skirts of His train filled the [most holy part of the] temple.

Above Him stood the seraphim; each had six wings: with two [each] covered his [own] face, and with two [each] covered his feet, and with two [each] flew.

And one cried to another and said, Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory!

And the foundations of the thresholds shook at the voice of him who cried, and the house was filled with smoke.

Here,  is where worship is bring an outward look for Isaiah. “Holy Holy Holy is the Lord of Host.” This is Isaiah looking at God and His glory.

Then said I, Woe is me! For I am undone and ruined, because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts!

Then flew one of the seraphim [heavenly beings] to me, having a live coal in his hand which he had taken with tongs from off the altar;

And with it he touched my mouth and said, Behold, this has touched your lips; your iniquity and guilt are taken away, and your sin is completely atoned for and forgiven.

When you see God for who he is, you start to see you for who you really are. Isaiah started seeing things in his heart and started to confess his sins. He saw God’s perfection and it caused him to see how imperfect he was.

Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send? And who will go for Us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

Here is the act of obedience.  Worship causes us to be obedient.

So, why the name? I chose this name because we when worship giants are slayed, battles are won, and walls come crumbling down. Was it not a worshiper that slayed Goliath? (1 Samuel 17) Was it not a worshiper that slayed the Lion and the Bear? (1 Samuel 17: 36) Was it not worshipers that defeated the sons of Ammon, Moab and Mount Seir, and won the battle (2 Chronicles 20:20-23)? Was it not a worship that causes the walls of Jericho to come crumbling down? (Joshua 6)? So then it is worship that will slay the Goliath in your life.

Thank you for reading my introduction and be blessed!
